Mini Beach Vacation

A few weeks ago Michael bought a car down in Galveston, so we decided to take advantage of the trip and we took the kiddos down to the beach.  We left Dallas after work and got to the hotel right before midnight.  Kambry stayed awake almost the whole drive.  She slept about 10 minutes (the last ten).  When we got into the room, all of a sudden the kid's adrenaline kicked in and they were  W I D E awake, and SO excited.  So excited to be on vacation... This was technically our first vacation as a family since Kohen was born.  We finally went to sleep at about 2AM once the kids finally settled down and stopped laughing.

Saturday morning I got up really early and got our beach stuff ready to go so we could get a good spot.  Michael went and met up with the car guy and I bravely took both kids to the beach.  Kambry played in the surf and Kohen....well....see photo. haha.

Once Michael got back from buying the car, we ate a quick lunch in the room and went back to the beach so Michael could help Kambry build a sandcastle...erh, sand car.

Kohen continued to sleep...lol.  In his defense, the waves crashing on the shore sounded EXACTLY like his sound machine that he sleeps to every night.  He was snoozing!  We went back to the room and washed up and changed for dinner.  We went to this little mexican restaurant that was in front of our hotel.  Kohen sat in a high chair for the first time!  He kept sucking on this lemon, even though he clearly didn't like it.

One thing Michael and I have always enjoyed together is taking random, last minute road trips.  It's pretty cool that our kids love to road trip.  Kambry has always seemed to enjoy road trips and doesn't mind the car rides.  So far, Kohen seems to be the same.  First family trip = success!

Here's a few more pics of the trip (which was less than 48 hours).
