So last weekend I participated in the Relay for Life of Navarro County. I was a team member on the Mini Beasts with my buddy Crystal (and Co.) and was Team Captain for my "work". It was a blast!!! 12 hours of walking for a GREAT cause. It was supposed to take place at Lake Halbert, but the weather did not cooperate so it was relocated to the Navarro College gym. 12 hours of walking in a circle sounded pretty boring and
claustrophobic but it had a fantastic turnout! We raised over $102K between all of the teams. Thanks to Todd Jones of Two Doors Down, none of us passed out from boredom. He was a BLAST at MC'ing the party. Cha Cha Sliding at 5AM was CrAzY! It was really heart warming and yet so sad to see how many people in the community had fought or lost battles with cancer-- including so many young kids. They rattled off names of loved ones lost, and I felt tears begin to roll down my cheeks as I heard some familiar names being said - including "Randy Green". Good 'ole Coach Green. He was one of my top 3 favorite teachers in high school. He made history SO much less boring. What a great legacy he left behind...
It definitely was worth being awake for
24 23.5 hours! I can't wait until next year! Thank you Crystal for forcing me to do this with you ;). I had SOOO much fun!

Only 3 of us left by the end beginning of the night morning!
Oh your very welcome. I will force you again next year.;) I would force you to run a few 5k's but not sure if you would be up to that right now. Thanks for showing up and walking for hours with me.
